Abstract:

The aim of the study is to analyze the problem whether there is an unchangeable unique reality and its reflection to the philosophical area in terms of universal core. Therefore in the dissertation the problem of universal core is studied firstly in an abstract frame within the scope of theorical ideas. Then the concepts of religious and mystical experience are examined in terms of basic units in order to understand the importance of their distinction for the universal core. Afterwards the problem of universal core is described in a concrete frame through the lenses of practical discussions based on Stace's and Katz's arguments. More specifically in the dissertation the concept of universal core is discussed according to Stace's conceptualization and systematical analyses because of his central position in the field of mysticism. Beside this, the reason-intuition dichotomy that specifies the study is used for the universal core. Furthermore the proposal attained through the idea of combination between the reason and intuition is the moderate universal essentialist approach between the universal essentialist and contextualist approaches. As a result of the philosophical evaluations, conceptual analysis and synthesis of ideas regarding the comparisons of the arguments of Stace and Katz, it is revealed that the similarities such as the unity of content, method and language are much more than the differences and it is deduced that there are structural, methodical and linguistic similarities in the religious and mystical experiences.
