Biography

Evren Türkmenoğlu completed his undergraduate studies at Hacettepe University, his master’s studies in the Department of Archaeology at Bilkent University, and his doctorate in the Department of Conservation, Restoration, and Renovation at Istanbul University. He has participated in numerous archaeological excavations and research projects, primarily underwater, both domestically and internationally. His research focuses on the development of shipbuilding techniques in the Mediterranean, maritime trade, and the architecture of archaeological ships. A faculty member in the Division of Conservation of Marine Archaeological Objects at Istanbul University’s Faculty of Letters, Evren Türkmenoğlu is involved in the Yenikapı Shipwrecks Project and serves as a team member responsible for underwater research in the excavations at the ancient city of Perinthos.
