Proje Özeti

Silymarin is a strong antioxidant that obtained from milk thistle. It removes skin problems like that dry skin, wrinkle, spot. Milk thistle commonly grows in Turkey. Nanoemulsions are carrier systems that exhibit long-lasting effects and enhance stability in skin products with a droplet size range of 10-500 nm by penetrating into the skin's lower layers in order to enhance the effectiveness of the active substance. In this thesis study, it is aimed to form a cosmetic nanoemulsion formulation containing silymarin which is the natural antioxidant to be used in an effective topical way to moisturize the skin, stabilize the sebum, and to treat wrinkles and skin spots. Nanoemulsions with silymarin were prepared different concentrations with the sonication method. At the beginning centrifuge and thermal test were applied. pH value, viscosity, droplet size and polydispersity index of formulations remaining stable were measured and organoleptic assessment was conducted. Each formulation that passed centrifuge and the thermal test was kept in room condition, climate cabinet and refrigerator for three months. Measurement of pH value, conductivity, viscosity, droplet size, polydispersity index and zeta potential and organoleptic assessment was conducted at a certain period of time. Heating and cooling test was also applied to each formulation.
