Özet

The internet, which has changed all processes (from receiving news to editing; from production to distribution), has differences than traditional mass communication media. In this process, together with the presentation form of news and the content may change. Which changes are undergoing with the newspapers as well as printed versions, while shaping in a different form on the internet? In our study, online versions with printed versions were compared in terms of photography in order to understand the differences. It is tried to determine which differences emerged in terms of gender and professions of people in the photographs. In our study, photographs of the people at the printed and online version of newspapers in 2000s, are analyzed. In our study, content analysis method was used in order to determine the existing situation. The first page of the printed versions of newspapers and the home page of the online versions of newspapers in the 11 years between 2000 and 2010, are compared with each other. Although the number of women photographs increased by 5% in print versions and 24% in online versions between 2000 - 2010, the number of men photographs are still more than the women's. In this research, it is also seen that people who has occupations with "visual" characteristic in forefront, take more place in online versions of the newspapers.
