Turizm Temalı Bilimsel Etkinliklerde Sunulan Bildirilerin Yayın Oranı ve Süreleri

Özet

Bilimsel faaliyetler çeşitlilik göstermekle birlikte bilimsel etkinlik kapsamında toplantıların etkinlikleri özellikle tıp ve mühendislik dallarında irdelenen konular arasında yer almıştır. Özellikle son yıllarda Sosyal Bilimler kapsamında Turizm bilim dalı üzerine düzenlenen toplantılara ilişkin değerlendirmelerin yapıldığı çalışmalar gözlemlenmektedir. Sonrasında yayına dönüşmesi, bilimsel bilgi aktarımın gerçekleştiği bilimsel toplantılara ilişkin etkinliğinin değerlendirilmesinde dikkate alınan unsurlardan dergide yayın oranının belirlenmesi bu çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda nitel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiş olup ikincil veri kaynaklarından yararlanılmış olup 2018 yılında 7 uluslararası turizm temalı kongrelerden 3’ü amaçlı örneklem temelinde kongrelere ilişkin kongre programları, özet, genişletilmiş özet, tam metinler kitapları ve dergi özel sayıları incelenmiştir. Bu noktada elektronik ortamda, kongrelerde sırayla bildiri başlıkları, ilk yazar, son yazar bilgileri Google Akademik ve YÖKAKADEMİK üzerinden aratılarak ilgili yayınlara erişim yoluna gidilmiştir. Tespit edilen yayınlar makaleler söz konusu ise tarandığı endekslere göre, kitap bölümleri ise yayınevi durumuna göre sınıflandırma yoluna gidilmiştir. Bulgular incelendiğinde çalışmada yayın oranlarının düşük olduğu tespit edilmiş olup yayın sürelerine ilişkin tespitler sunulmuş, öneriler sıralanmıştır. 

Although the scientific activities vary, the effectiveness of the meetings within the scope of scientific activities has been among the topics discussed especially in medicine and engineering areas. Especially in recent years, it has been observed that there are studies in which evaluations are made regarding the meetings held on Tourism science within the scope of Social Sciences. The purpose of the study is to determine the publication rate in the journal, which is one of the factors that are taken into account in evaluating the effectiveness of scientific meetings in which scientific information transfer takes place. In this context, a qualitative research approach was adopted and as secondary data sources, congress programs, abstract, extended summary, full texts books and journal special issues were examined on the basis of purposive sampling from 3 of 7 international tourism-themed congresses in 2018. At this point, the titles of the papers, the first author and the last author information were searched electronically through Google Scholar and YÖKAKADEMİK in order to access related publications. If the detected publications were articles, they were classified according to the index they were scanned, and the book chapters according to the publisher's status. Findings shows that in the study, it was determined that the publication rates were low, and the findings regarding the time to publication were presented and the recommendations were listed.
