China last three decades despite the rapid increase in income level, life satisfaction receded during the last 30 years. Under the Chinese official understanding ’socialist market economy’, the increasing income level comes with increasing income inequality. In this study, we investigate the effects of the perception of income inequality on life satisfaction. We used World Values Survey data to estimate Multivariate Ordered Logistic Regression. We found that even if there was no the however in 2014, perception of income inequality could explain statistically explain life satisfaction.
