Abstract

Study Group for Viral Hepatitis of the Turkish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases set up a task force to develop a consensus report focused on fulminant hepatitis B, the only infection for which an effective antiviral approach is available. Both antiviral and non-antiviral therapies were reviewed in the report. Some practical recommendations from relevant guidelines of three international associations (i.e., European Association for the Study of the Liver, American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, and Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver) were adopted, and listed with the level of evidence and the grade of recommendation at the end of the report.
