Özet

Abstract

Aquaculture sustainability depends on three pillars, environment, financial and social. The stability of environmental conditions ensures safe production without drawbacks. Yet, aquatic environment tends to change constantly carrying many hazards for aquaculture production. Enviguard system was designed to monitor these environmental threats in real time using biotechnology to provide fish farmers a platform as a biosecurity measure and ensure unhindered production. Enviguard system was developed as a highly specific and precise in situ measurement device to monitor and measure man-made chemical contaminants and biohazards before reaching the farming sites.

Different farming sites with variety of species in production were evaluated to establish a modular system with different sensors covering the needs of the farmers. The system was designed to work automatically in the marine environment with remote date sharing.  Enviguard system provides early detection of pathogens and man-made pollutants which will prevent future damages of the marine environment to the sustainability of the aquaculture production and supply of healthy, high quality seafood ensuring food safety.
