Özet

Polymeric micelles are nano size systems of the suitable amphiphilic block copolymers for releasing hydrophobic and amphiphilic drugs. In particular, they are used with parenteral routes, but there are the studies conducted based on the alternative application routes of micelles. It is possible to target the micelles to the desired area by preparing nano-sized micelles, changing their charges and adding the necessary groups to the polymer. In addition, bioavailability of drugs can be improved with the micellar systems and the side effects of drugs also can be decreased with these systems. As an alternative drug application route, nasal route have several superiorities. In recent years, the research studies have been hugely performed in which the micelles are targeted to brain via olfactor area of nasal route. The studies are going on the formulation of polymeric micelles to targeting of drugs to brain.
