Abstract

The aim of this article is to explore the place, influence and role of Durkheim in sociology of culture. Furthermore, it suggests to reevaluate and reread the works of classical sociologist in the context of cultural sociology. It has been also asserted that Durkheim is a very important figure for cultural sociological researches. His concepts, such as ritual, symbol, sense, make him an important part of sociology of culture.
