Rothia mucilaginosa, previously known as Stomatococcus mucilaginosus, is a Gram-positive coccus and belongs to the family Micrococcaceae. It is considered as normal flora of oropharynx and upper respiratory tract, and rarely causes pneumonia. In this report, we present a case of nosocomial pneumonia caused by R. mucilaginosa, in a patient who recently had neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy for lung cancer.
