Sinekkaya Cave has been visited by an international group of experts

Within the scope of the European Union supported COST Action (CA19141) Integrating Neanderthal Legacy: From Past to Present (iNeal) supported, a training school titled "Neanderthals in Tourism" was held on 7-9 May 2024, hosted by Istanbul University in partnership with Düzce and Bilecik Şeyh Edebali Universities. In addition to Turkey, 29 scientists from 15 different European countries participated in this training school.

After the oral presentations at Istanbul University on the first two days, a field trip was organised on the last day of the training school to introduce the Palaeolithic heritage in Bursa to the participants. Within the scope of this trip, Bursa Archaeological Museum, Şahinkaya Cave and Sinekkaya Cave were visited. Sinekkaya Cave excavation scientific adviser Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berkay Dinçer presented the cave and gave information about the recent excavations to the participants.
