Sinekkaya Cave Excavations Scientific Supervisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Berkay Dinçer participated in the symposium titled ‘Eastern Mediterranean Contact Area in the Early Prehistory’ held at the University of Belgrade in Serbia between 6-7 December 2024 and made a presentation titled ‘The Middle Palaeolithic in West Anatolia: Passages and Borders’. The presentation covered the surveys carried out in Western Anatolia, particularly the West Afyonkarahisar Palaeolithic Survey, and the excavations carried out at Sinekkaya Cave.

The symposium was attended by scientists from Austria, Bulgaria, Czechia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Israel, Italy, Canada, Montenegro, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine and Turkey.
