Biography
I was born on October 1, 1980 in Istanbul. I completed my
primary and secondary education in Sinop Anatolian High School. I started my
medical education at Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1998
and graduated in 2004 by entering the top ten with honors. I received my
pediatrics education between 2005 and 2010 in Bakırköy Obstetrics and
Pediatrics Hospital, which is the largest hospital in Istanbul in the area with
an average of 45,000 births per year. I did my compulsory service between
October 2010 and April 2012 at Kastamonu Taşköprü State Hospital as a
pediatrician. After completing my compulsory service, I worked at Acıbadem
International Hospital as a pediatrician in charge of Neonatal Intensive Care
for 1 year. In order to become a pediatric cardiologist, which has been my
dream since I was a student, I became the 24th in Turkey in 2013 in the
subspecialization entrance exam and I started my education in Istanbul University Istanbul
Medical Faculty, where I also received my medical education. In the last year
of my subspecialization education, As a pediatric cardiologist, my first
assignment was in Samsun, the largest city in the Black Sea region. In the
state hospital where I worked for 4 years, I examined an average of 50-60
patients a day and evaluated a large number of babies with congenital heart
disease who were referred from the surrounding provinces. This process gave me
serious clinical experience. After working as a specialist for 4 years, I was
invited by my professors to Istanbul Medical Faculty as an academician in
August 2021. I am still working as a pediatric cardiologist and academician at
Istanbul Medical Faculty. I work especially in the field of advanced imaging
methods, fetal echocardiography and heart transplantation. Among my duties are
clinical research, student education, assistant training, and fellow training. Diagnostic
and therapeutic angiography, cardiovascular surgery intensive care
consultations, pediatrics and newborn consultations and councils are included
in my routine work program every week, apart from the very intensive outpatient
service with an average of 15000 patients per year.
