This course prepares students to enter the academic conversation in any field by teaching writing techniques that focus on proper grammar, sound logic and persuasive rhetoric (that is, the classical trivium). We work within a myriad of academic contexts—cultural, political, historical, philosophical—and read and discuss writings by different authors and focus on how to improve students' academic writing skills.
