This course aims to discuss the concept and function of aesthetics in the study and analysis of literary texts. We will explore intersections of word and art in films, poetry and short stories. We will examine how our perceptions of literary arts have changed over the centuries with texts from Plato, Kant and Walter Benjamin. We will also study recent developments in visual arts, literature, and aesthetics.
