Abstract:

Documentary film As a Sample of The Third Cinema in Latin American Cinema andTurkish Cinema by 2000s, Özlem ARDA

Theaim of this study is to describe the qualities of the Third Cinema and documentary film, to explain that which the documentary films share the same understanding with the Third Cinematogether. Also it is the aim to announce what are the samples of this shared - common understanding as films. Firstly, ideas about the Third Cinema are referred and then qualities of the Third Cinema are touched on as related concepts. The general qualities of the Third Cinema understanding in the worldand in Turkey are touched with the examples. The general structure of the Documentary Cinema is considered and described the common qualities between the Third Cinema the Documentary Cinema so six documentary films are defined as examplesfrom Latin America and Turkey by 2000s. Ethnographic Content Analysis is used for analysing the films based on the Manifest of Third Cinema. Also these documentary films contain different criterias of Third Cinema, they are thought in Third Cinema from the point of understanding unit so these documentary films are defined as samples of the Third Cinema. In this study it is brought out that some documentary films which has the understanding of the Third Cinema can be thought as samples of The Third Cinema so Documentary Cinema can be represented in the Third Cinema by the some of the documentary films.
