I was born in Sapanca ( Sakarya ) on June 12nd, 1964. I completed my primary and secondary education in İzmit ( Kocaeli ). I got my BA degree in Economics from Boğaziçi University, and my MA and Ph D, both in Economics, from the Institute of Social Sciences of Istanbul University. I have worked at Istanbul University from November 1987 to date. I am currently employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Economics ( in English ). I have taught courses such as Introductory Economics, Microeconomics, Economic Growth and Development at both undergraduate and graduate levels, mostly at Istanbul University, during the past twenty years. My major fields of interest are growth, development and technological progress.
