Abstract

I will present the linearized field equations of Horndeski theory with an arbitrary scalar potential, using a suitable gauge choice to linear order. The resulting solutions will be used to investigate the influence of the potential term on the perihelion advance  caused by a compact object. A comparative analysis will be carried out  with respect to  the predictions of General Relativity  and other modified gravity theories.
