In this paper, a market share estimation model for an engineering contracting company is presented. The models are generated by means of two major concepts; namely "Budgeting by Market Objectives" and "Budgeting by Company Performance". Explicit formulas are given to estimate the market share of a company. The validity of the formulas is crosschecked. It is exhibited that the proposed models are useful to guide the top management in selecting appropriate projects or employed as decision-making tools, SWOT analysis tools and generating various kinds of scenarios for future strategies.
