Özet

The role of 18F-FDG PET/CT (FDG) in detecting recurrence of nasopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (NFSCC) is undeniably high; however, hypermetabolism due to infection/inflammation can lead to false-positive interpretation. 68Ga-Trivehexin PET/CT (TRV-PET), a new PET imaging agent used to visualize αVβ6 integrin receptors, has shown promising results in overcoming false-positive FDG uptake in lymph node metastases in head and neck tumors. This case report compares the findings of 68Ga-Trivehexin PET/CT with 18F-FDG PET/CT, 99mTc-MDP bone scintigraphy (BS), and 99mTc-HMPAO labeled leukocyte scintigraphy (LLS) in the differential diagnosis of local recurrence/infection in a patient with a history of NFSCC.
