Abstract

Objective: Stanozolol is an anabolic androgenic steroid (MS) that is widely used by teenagers and athletes in bodybuilding, sports, and athletics. The potential effects of stanozolol in kidney functions have not been defined. In this study we investigated the expression of tumor suppressor protein phosphatase and tensin homolog (Pten) and mRNA levels of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate 3 kinase (Pi3k) and the protein kinase B (Akt1) signaling pathway in rat kidneys treated by stanozolol.
