Özet

In this study, the mean glanduler dose ( MGD) displayed by the mammography system and the MGD calculated according to TS EN 61223-3-2 evaluation and routine testing in medical imaging departments standard have been compared. Measurements were performed in a full-field digital mammography system (FFDM) using polymethyl-methacrylate phantom (PMMA) to simulate breast thicknesses ranging from 20 mm to 60 mm. It has been observed that the MGD values displayed by the mammography system are different from the MGD values calculated according to the method proposed by TS EN 61223-3-2 standard. Additionaly, it was analysed which factors affect the relationship between the calculated and displayed MGD values and observed that there is a linear relationship between calculated and displayed MGD values (R-2=0,97).
