Abstract

The genus Inula (tribe Inuleae, Compositae) has about 90-100 species 1, more than one-third of these species have been investigated chemically. Most of them contain sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids and triterpenoids as well as some simple thymol derivatives and aromatic compounds.
