12th Advances in Hospitality and Tourism Marketing and Management (AHTMM) Conference, Faro, Portekiz, 30 Haziran - 04 Temmuz 2025, ss.143-153, (Tam Metin Bildiri)
This study examines immersive technologies in Tourism and Hospitality Education (T&HE) through a cross-disciplinary bibliometric analysis. Based on 81 T&HE and 1,274 Social Sciences (SS) publications from Scopus and WoS, it applies treemap visualizations, co-occurrence networks, and thematic mapping to compare conceptual structures. Findings reveal that T&HE research is mainly practice-oriented with limited pedagogical integration, whereas SS literature demonstrates broader theoretical engagement. As a result, six strategic directions are proposed to guide future T&HE research, focusing on theory-driven design, learning outcomes, curriculum integration, instructor readiness, institutional alignment, and the use of diverse immersive modalities.
