2006 yılında El-Cezire İngilizce’nin yayına başlamasıyla uluslararası medya
akışının batı yönlü olduğu gerçeği sorgulanmaya başlanmış ancak %90’ı batı yönlü
olan bu medya akışında yeni bir hareket olup olmayacağı tartışmaya açılmıştır.
Gelişmekte olan ülkelerin bir de dünyayı benden dinleyin arzusu, batı yönlü
olmayan medya kaynaklarının ortaya çıkmasına, kanalların da çeşitlenmesine
sebep olmuştur. Kasım 2014’te Sputnik’in bir uluslararası medya ajansı olarak
meydana çıkması ve her ülkenin ulusal ilgilerine, kültürlerine, tarih ve
geleneklerine saygı duyarak çok kutuplu bir dünyanın varlığına işaret etmesinden
yola çıkarak Rusya’nın da haber servis noktasında farklı bakışları ortaya koymaya
çabasının ardından TRT’nin bu bağlamda incelemeye değer TRTworld’u yayın hayatına 27 Ekim 2015 tarihinde TV kanalı ve web sitesi olarak başlamıştır. Bu
çalışmada dünyaya dünyayı ve Türkiye’yi anlatma misyonunu başlangıç seviyesinde
ne derece yapabildiği konusunda TRT World'ün web sitesinin metinsel çözümlemesi yapılmıştır.
After Al Jazeera English started to broadcast in 2006, international news flows
were criticized for being Eurocentric. Whether the debates on this topic would lead
to a new phase, in terms of news flows, 90% of which were Eurocentric. The will
of developing countries to change the direction of the news flows lead to the
emergence of non-Eurocentric media sources as well as diversifying of channels.
Also Sputnik that started broadcasting in 2014 has tried to indicate the reality of a
multipolar world by means of regarding national interests, cultures, histories and
traditions of all countries. After Sputnik’s attempts to propose different
perspectives in terms of news delivery, TRT also worth to be analyzed for its aim
to contribute to non-Eurocentric news flows. TRT World started its broadcasting
on 27th of October in 2015 with a TV channel and a website. Within this context,
the aim of this paper is to analyze TRT World website on the basis of its attempts
to introduce Turkey to the world besides its efforts to introduce the world to
Turkish people.
