Abstract

Solid-phase extraction with an anion exchange resin was used together with electrochemical detection on a glassy carbon electrode that was modified with Ti3C2TxMXene /VO2@MoO2 composites to measure 5-fluorouracil. The VO2@MoO2 composites were synthesized via a precipitation process combined with the hydrothermal method. The nanomaterials were characterized in terms of their structure, composition, and morphology. The key processing parameters affecting the solid-phase extraction and electrochemical determination were optimized. The linear response was from 0.01 to 35 mu M, with a detection limit of 2.2 nM. The proposed method was applied to determine 5-fluorouracil in urine and water samples with satisfactory recoveries (90-92%).
