Large Complex Odontoma of Posterior Maxilla:A Case Report

Özet
Odontomalar,en sık görülen odontojenik orijinli gelişimsel benign tümörlerdir.Bu tümörler kompleks ve kompound olmak üzere iki grupta sınıflandırılırlar.Yavaş büyümeleri ve agresif olmamalarıyla karakterizedirler.Genellikle asemptomatik olup rutin radyografik muayene ile teşhis edilirler fakat bazen ağız içine sürebilirler ve fasiyal asimetri ve sellülite yol açabilirler.Bu çalışmada maxilla posteriorda kompleks odontomaya sahip bir olgu sunulmaktadır.Tümör lokal anestezi altında eksize edilerek histopatolojik inceleme için patolojiye gönderildi.Histopatolojik bulgular kompleks odontoma tanısını doğruladı.Bu çalışmanın amacı maksiller posterior bölgede nadir olarak görülen kompleks odontoma olgsuna dikkat çekmektir
Odontomas are the most common benign developmental tumours of odontogenic origin.These tumours are classified into two groups:compound and complex odontoma.They are characterized by slow growth and nonaggressive behaviour.These tumours are usually asymptomatic and identified on routine radiographic examination.But they may present with eruption into the oral cavity with subsequent cellulitis and facial asymmetry.We report a case of complex odontoma of posterior maxilla in a male patient.The tumour was treated by surgical excision under local anesthesia and the specimen was sent to pathology for histopathological evaluation. Histopathological examination confirmed the
diagnosis of complex odontoma.The aim of this study is to point out a rare case of large complex odontoma of posterior maxilla.
