Rain Gardens of Green Infrastructure Applications in Sustainable Landscape Design: The Case of Edirne

Özet

Bu çalışmada, Edirne kent merkezi içinde yer alan Fatih Mahallesi’nde farklı dönemlerde inşa edilmiş 2 yapı adası ele alınarak, adaların; sert zeminler ve yeşil alan miktarları, toprak yapısı, mevcut bitki türleri belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, yıllık toplam yağış miktarı da dikkate alınarak değerlendirilmiş ve yeşil altyapı uygulamalarından birisi olan yağmur bahçeleri esas alınarak, bakım maliyetlerini düşüren bir peyzaj düzenlemesi önerilmiştir.

In this study, 2 blocks of houses that had been built in different periods in The Fatih district which is located in central city of Edirne have been evaluated in terms of quantity of the hard grounds and green areas, structure of the soil and existing plant species accompanied by the area exposed to rainfall amount and the other climatic data. The obtained data were evaulated by considering to annual total precipitation and a landscape design that take place among the green infrastructural applications, which lowers the maintenance costs is proposed.
