Özet

Microwave Discharge Ion Sources (MDIS) are one of the high current ion sources which doesn't require maintenance for long time. Basic components are a microwave source, a plasma chamber, input gas, waveguides to transfer power  from source to plasma chamber, solenoids which satisfy ECR condition above the plasma chamber,   the gas for required ion type, a vacumm chamber and an extraction system to transfer ions from plasma chamber to beamline.

In this study we aim to upgrade the existing 8 keV MDIS to a H+ machine providing a 1 mA, 20 keV beam. Additionally, a Low Energy Beam Transfer (LEBT) line is designed  and manufactured to transfer the 20KeV protons to a RFQ. The  performance of the LEBT Line is optimized via simulation studies using Travel Software. Currently the commissioning of the LEBT's solenoid magnets is ongoing.
