This study aimed to describe cardiovascular profiles during The Bruce treadmill protocol in healthy men, aged between 8-40, who trained and untrained (n=264). Endurance time, ECG, Pulse rate, Blood pressure were observed by computer and maximal oxygen consumption, anaerobic threshold were measured by metabolic gas analysis precisely and 'breath by breath' MET values were obtained from postexercise reports. Individuals were divided to twelve groups according to the proximity of the average ages. Their values were examined by the student t test. These data suggest that exercise time and frequency are more important than type of the exercises in measuring the cardiovascular fitness. The other finding is that exercise can not be only factor in determining to decline the systemic blood pressure.
