Neutron energy determination is crucial in (α, n) reaction studies, where emitted neutrons span a broad energy range influenced by reaction kinematics and target properties. This work presents an experimental method using an array of moderated3He proportional counters to determine neutron energies. Optimized moderator configurations and Monte Carlo-supported spectral unfolding enable reliable reconstruction of neutron spectra without time-of-flight measurements. The system offers a practical and efficient approach for neutron energy characterization, applicable to nuclear data validation and shielding design.
