Özet

The objective of this study was to investigate of the resin-dentin interface of different dentin adhesive systems (self-etching and total-etching adhesive systems) bonded to caries-affected dentin, exposed using with a chemo-mechanical caries removal system (Carisolv). Ten extracted upper and lower 1th and 2nd molar teeth with occlusal caries lesions and four sound teeth for the control were used. Occlusal caries depth standardized with DIAGNOdent and mm-measurement bite-wing radiographs were selected for the study. After the teeth were sectioned mesio-distal plan. After the treatment with Carisolv of the carious and sound dentin surfaces of the teeth, one self-etching and one total-etching dentin bonding systems were applied to the dentin surfaces according to the manufacturer's instructions and composite resin was built up onto it. Resin-dentin interfaces of the specimens were examined under a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The resin tag formation created in caries affected dentin exposed after Carisolv treatment was shorter than the sound dentin. The total-etch dentin bonding system produced more resin tag formation than the self-etch dentin bonding system in caries affected dentin. Both dentin adhesives created longer resin tag formation in sound dentin when compared to caries affected dentin.
