The aim of this paper is to approach and analyse the translatological evolution of a minority and minoritised language: Judeo‑Spanish. To this end, the main instrument used is the standardising role of translation, and the evolution in this field is examined in a chronological and local dimension with respect to works published in Judeo‑Spanish and their translators. The study shows how this language and, consequently, its translation have developed from the 16th century onwards. Furthermore, it shows that the translation of liturgical texts from Hebrew has moved into other new genres and languages, although information on literary works and translation is limited. Thus, it explains the current situation of Judeo‑Spanish in an international context, in which in most of the countries where it is spoken it is experiencing linguistic regression.
