In this study, "Piano Trio in A Minor 'In Memory of a Great Artist' Op.50" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, one of the composers of the 19th century Romantic Period, is analysed from a cultural and musical perspective. The work of Tchaikovsky, who is one of the important composers of Russian music in the High Romanticism, which is accepted as the last phase of the Romantic period, has been determined as the main subject of the article. Accordingly, the aim of the research is to examine the work from a cultural and musical point of view, and to present the findings and analyses obtained in the research. In the introductory part of the research, the composer's artistic importance and his approach to chamber music form are mentioned, and in order to introduce the general outlines of the subject; in the subject heading numbered A. "Russian Music in the Romantic Period", information about the development of Russian music in the 1800s is given. In this direction, it is possible to obtain information about the art understanding of the period that developed around the work. In the topic B. includes the "Tchaikovsky's Musical Life" and contains information about the composer's musical career and artistic approach. The reason for the writing of the work stems from the friendship and musical relationship between Nikolay Rubinstein and Tchaikovsky. In the topic C. titled "Interaction with Nikolay Rubinstein", this musical relationship is mentioned and comments on the related subject are presented through letters. In the method section of the research; the purpose, research model, limitations, population and sample, methods used for data collection, and analysis and interpretation of the data are given in detail. The fact that "Piano Trio in A Minor 'In Memory of a Great Artist' Op.50" was written by Tchaikovsky as a dedication to Nikolay Rubinstein, who was known as a conductor and pianist during the Romantic Period, shows the existence of cultural findings developing in the background of the work. In the findings section, the cultural background is analysed and the musical structure of the sections in the piece is analysed by presenting information about its general structure. The findings obtained as a result of the analysis; form, measure numbers and musical analysis are presented in a table within the comments. During the research process, a literature review was conducted on the relevant subject, and the first edition of the work, published by Pyotr Jurgenson in 1882 was used for the analyses. In the conclusion part of the study, the data determined in line with the cultural background and musical analyses of the work are presented. In the analyses of the work, the coherence of historical information including cultural elements and musical analyses is a necessity for the integrity of the research. For this purpose, it is planned that the research subject, which is evaluated with a multidimensional perspective, will be a useful source in terms of literature.
