The present article examines the problem of democracy, which came to the fore with the Fidesz Party in Hungary, around the debate on ma-joritarian and pluralist democracy. With placing self-government in the center, the term democracy has shown an alteration as well while following the change of societies in time. In time, public demand for having a voice in governance developed to be in a connection with the administration system by people’s entrustment to an upper authority. The authority given to the government in power became problematic by leading to democracy discussions. Which is problematic that de-mocracy may be a problem too. In majoritarian democracies, it is im-portant for the mechanism of democracy that a swap between the par-ty in power and the opposing via democratic elections in time. Con-cordantly, with the majority’s government transforming into a dicta-torship for minorities, we see that majoritarian democracy generates deep disagreements within Hungarian Society.
