Let G be a finite group. For a complex irreducible character chi of G, the number cod(chi) = |G:ker chi| /(chi(1)) is called the codegree of chi. Our aim here is to study the relationship between the structure of G and the codegrees of real-valued strongly monolithic characters of G. We obtain new bounds on the p-length of a p-solvable group, as well as new solvability criteria using the codegrees of real-valued strongly monolithic characters.
