Son yıllarda immünsüprese hasta grubunda fırsatçı mikroorganizmaların neden olduğu, hastane infeksiyonları giderek önem
kazanmaktadır. Bu mikroorganizmaların, su dağıtım sistemlerinde zaman zaman biyofilm de oluşturarak iyi üredikleri
belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada büyük bir hastanenin su dağıtım sisteminden alınan su örneklerinde mikrobial popülasyonun
belirlenmesi amaçlanmış ve bu amaç doğrultusunda hastanenin değişik birimlerine ait su dağıtım sistemlerinden 100 ayrı
noktadan alınan su örnekleri bakteriyolojik ve mikolojik yönden analiz edilmiş, suların analizinde membran filtre yöntemi
kullanılmıştır.
Bakteriyolojik ve mikolojik yöntemlerle incelenen suların, 84'ünden (%84) başta Bacillus spp (%77), Bacillus cereus (%11),
Pseudomonas spp(%5) ve stafilokoklar (%4) olmak üzere çeşitli bakteriler izole edilmiş, 16 örnekte (%16) birden fazla
bakteri üremiştir. Örneklerin 51’inden (%51) ise en sık Penicillium spp (%24), Aspergillus spp (%8) ve Acremonium spp(%5)
olmak üzere 16 cins küf mantarı izole edilmiş, 13 örnekte (%13) birden fazla mantar cinsinin ürediği belirlenmiştir. Altı
örnekte bakteri veya mantar üremesi olmamıştır.
Son olarak izole edilen bakteri ve mantarların üremeleri arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amacı ile Spearman korelasyon testi
uygulanmış, ancak bu mikroorganizmalar arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır.
