OBJECTIVES We aimed to evaluate the patient distribution according to diagnosis, dose and fraction data in four radiotherapy centers in Istanbul with a robotic system. The data of the patients treated in 2010 in these centers were analyzed retrospectively. METHODS Five hundred ninety-three patients treated with the CyberKnife (CK) system during 2010 were included in this study. The median age of the patients (355 male [59.9%], 238 female [40.1%]) was 55 years (range: 8-87). RESULTS CK was used as primary treatment in 348 patients, for reir-radiation in 209 patients, planned boost in 26 patients, and for recurrence in previous field edge in 10 patients. Total median dose was 2100 cGy (800-7500 cGy), median dose per fraction was 800 cGy (200-3750), and median total fraction was 3 (1-10). CONCLUSION CK is preferred as a curative or palliative modality in the treatment of certain malignant and some benign lesions, with appropriate indications.
