With the emergence of Industry 4.0, changes have occurred in many areas. The changes and developments in those areas also affect students, employees and characteristics of jobs themselves therefore they influence employment and education through the new emerging competencies. In this context, the aim of this paper is to determine the level of Industry 4.0 awareness of postgraduate students in Istanbul University. In addition, regarding to the level of awareness, its effect on education, vocational competencies, keeping up the with the technology and readiness for the future of the students are also examined. The data sample is composed of masters and doctoral students in Istanbul University. In order to establish the dataset of the study, a survey was conducted among 46 students and qualitative method is used. The findings of this study give ideas about perspectives of students on Industry 4.0, prominent competencies and education.
