Colon perforations are one of major complications of colonoscopy. In this retrospective study, 105 cases in whom colonic perforation developed during colonoscopy. Risk factors that effect formation of these perforation, in means of patient, colonoscopy and colonoscopits and treatment principles of these perforations are discussed here. Besides risks due to the patient, the risks related to colonoscopy technique and performing it plays an important role in those perforations. Mortality is real heavy In this perforation (% 14) and serious sequela occur in those patients (% 11). Preventive precautions of colonoscopist besides choosing treatment alternatives for perforation (surgery conservative-laparoscopy) and correct timing helps us to reduce morbidity and mortality rates.
