Abstract

 

In this study, wavelet transform is applied to the air magnetic data around the Gulf of Iskenderun. The results
obtained in this region together with the deep seismic sections are compared to the well data. A structure running
through Gulf of Iskenderun toward the N-S direction has been observed. As a conclusion, promising results are
obtained from the application of wavelet transform method to the magnetic data. The wavelet transform method
proves to be very convenient in determining tectonic structures. Furthermore, an integration of the findings obtained
from the above cited geophysical and geological data, a better tectonic model pertinent to the region can be
achieved.
