It is important to diagnose and treat them to protect the health of the patient as well as the health of he patient's family. In the emergency department, the patient with suspicious infectious disease, treated first before diagnose of it. The criteria of prescribing antibiotics are variously. First of all, ast the patient about any allergies to medications. Use your judgment about thse recommendations especially with regard to drug interactions and side effects. Unless otherwise indicated, the dosages listed here are for adults with normal renal and hepatic function. Hospital admission and parenteral therapy should be considered for any patient who is severely ill, immunocompromised or who may not be complaint with oral medications. The first line therapies listed in this literature are based upon efficacy and cost. If a first line medication fails, consider switching to a broader-spectrum (and often more expensive) therapy.
