Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kurulmasından sonra başta namaz olmak üzere ibadetlerin Türkçe olarak yapılması yönünde çok önemli girişimler olmuştur. Önceleri özellikle Batıdaki gelişmelerin etkisinde kalan bazı düşünürler tarafından dile getirilen anadilde ibadet anlayışı, Cumhuriyetin kurulmasından sonra bizzat Devletin öncülük yaptığı bir hareket halini almıştır. Devletin resmi bir kuruluşu olan İstanbul Darülfünun İlahiyat Fakültesi, ibadetlerin Türkçe ifası yönünde bir rapor hazırladığı gibi, Cumhuriyetin kurucusu Mustafa Kemal Atatürk de, bu harekete destek vermiş, bizzat kendisi seçtiği dönemin ünlü imamlarına Türkçe ezan okuyup Türkçe Kur’an okumalarını emretmiştir. Bunun sonucu olarak Türkiye’de başta ezan olmak üzere bazı ibadetler uzun süre Türkçe olarak ifa edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, yakın tarihimizin oldukça önemli hadiseleri arasında yer alan bu gelişmeler işlenmektedir.
The Matter of the Muslim Prayer in the Native Language in Turks

Abstract: In this article, it is focused on developments that occur about divine service in the native language in Turks throughout the history. For this purpose, it is researched the religions selected by Turks since the early period of Turkish History, the activities for performing their worships and the efforts to perform them. By the way, it is mentioned on Turkish Quran translations and important works written after Turks had been Muslims. In the article, it was researched the developments that occurred on Muslim prayer in the native language. I focused on the last Period of Ottoman Empire and the first years of the New Turkish Republic because the argumentations about praying in native language have been increased in those periods. The developments in the Turkish Republic will be analyzed in another article. As Turks generally accepted Hanafi sect, I had also given some information about the opinions of Hanafi sect about this subject.
