© 2022 IEEE.The considerable applications and configurations of Medium-Voltage (MV) motor drives are available on the market, the most famous used ones, are presented in this paper. The study discusses the benefits and drawbacks of each arrangement, as well as the influence on energy quality on the mains and motor sides when they are applied. for a successful choice of MV motor driver topology, technical needs and functional factors for end-users and system designers' requests are determined. MV motor drives have provided the industry with benefits such as greater process control, increased efficiency, and energy savings. Due to advancements in switching instruments, refrigeration systems, harmonic decrease, converter/inverter design, and control systems, the reliability of MV motor drive has increased in the recent decade. The technology for MV motor drive has advanced, and the cost of installing it has decreased, as seen with the growing number of drives placed into operation in recent years. Users, manufacturers, and utilities will take benefit from this article since it gives fundamental information about MV motor drives.
