Özet
The inclusion of prolonged grief disorder (PGD) in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR) has highlighted the need for developmentally appropriate, validated measures. Many measures for bereaved youth predate the DSM-5-TR criteria and do not fully align with them. We evaluated the psychometric properties of the Turkish Prolonged Grief Assessment-Child Version (PGA-C) in 436 participants aged 8-17 years, 6-36 months after parental loss. The PGA-C had alpha = .92 and a two-week intraclass correlation coefficient of .735. A one-factor model with two residual covariances showed acceptable fit, and associations with depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, and quality of life supported convergent validity. A cutoff of 50 showed concordance with the algorithm-based probable PGD (area under the curve = .941). These findings support the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the PGA-C for parentally bereaved Turkish youth.
