Mobil cihazların kullanımı nedeniyle başkalarını görmezden gelme ve yok sayma davranışı olarak tanımlanan “Mobil Değersizleştirme (Phubbing)” kavramı, bilgi toplumunda mobil teknolojilerinin yaygınlaşmasıyla giderek önem kazanmaktadır. Mobil değersizleştirme davranışı, genel çerçevede bireyler arasındaki yüz yüze iletişimin kalitesini olumsuz etkilemekte ve toplumsal bağları zayıflatmaktadır. Aynı zamanda aile içi ilişkilerde de gerginliklere ve ileti= şim kopukluklarına yol açabilmektedir. Dahası bu davranışın gelecekte işyerinde ekip içi iletişimi bozarak verimliliğin düşmesi, içsel motivasyonun azalması gibi çalışma hayatında da değişik sorunlara yol açacağı öngörülmektedir. Eğitim hayatında ise öğrencilerin derslere odaklanmasını engelleyerek eğitim sürecini olumsuz etkileyeceği de düşünülmektedir. Bu çerçevede toplumsal hayata olumsuz yönleriyle birçok açıdan tesir eden “Mobil Değersizleş= tirme” kavramının bilgi teknolojilerinin hızlı gelişimi ile birlikte gelecekte daha da önem arz eden bir sorun olacağı düşünülmektedir. Dolayısıyla kavramın bilimsel üretim açısından incelenmesi, literatürdeki mevcut durumun ortaya konulması ve gelecekteki araştırma trendlerinin belirlenmesi çalışmanın ana amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda çalışmada; Web of Science Core Colletion’da yer alan 287 adet bilimsel eserin tamamı “Vosviewer” programı yardımıyla bibliyometrik açıdan analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda kavramın, son yıllarda farklı bilim dallarında ilgi gördüğü ve böylece bağlantı ağını genişlettiği tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgulardan yola çıkılarak; mobil değersizleştirme ile mücadele etmek için toplumsal farkındalığın artırılması ve bu yönde yapılacak çalışmaların büyük önem taşıdığı anlaşılmaktadır.
The concept of ‘Mobile Devaluation (Phubbing)’, defined as the behaviour of ignoring and disregarding others due to the use of mobile devices, is gaining importance in the information society with the widespread use of mobile technologies. This behaviour negatively affects the quality of face=to=face communication between individuals and weakens social bonds. Also, it can lead to tension and communication breakdowns within families. It is predicted that this behaviour will cause various problems in the workplace in the future, such as disrupting team communication, reducing productivity and decreasing internal motivation. It is thought that it will negatively affect the educational process by preventing students from focusing on their lessons. In this context, ‘Mobile Devaluation,’ which affects social life in many ways with its negative aspects, will become an even more important issue in the future with the rapid development of information technologies. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to examine the concept from a scientific production perspective, to reveal the current state of the literature, and to determine future research trends. In line with this objective, all 287 scientific articles included in the Web of Science Core Collection were analysed bibliometrically using Vosviewer. The analysis revealed that the concept has gained attention in various scientific fields in recent years and has thus expanded its network of connections. Based on the findings of the study, it is understood that raising social awareness and conducting studies in this direction are of great importance in combating mobile devaluation.
