This meta-synthesis study aims to develop a holistic approach by synthesizing qualitative research results that examine the Qur'an memorization project with formal education based on Qur'an teachers' opinions. In this study, in which the meta-synthesis method was used, a five-step research process was followed in accordance with the literature. The criteria for the research to be included in the study group were that it was about a Qur'an memorization project along with formal education, was based on Qur'an teachers' opinions, and was conducted with a qualitative or mixed method. The data obtained from 10 studies met these criteria were carefully read and themes and codes were determined. The findings of this meta-synthesis study reveal that the project has advantages and challenges. In particular, the structural dimension of the project, the Qur'an memorization education process, teacher competencies, what it brings to students, and student-teacher expectations came to the fore as the main themes. The structural dimension of the project offers significant advantages in integrating Qur'an memorization education with formal education. Another positive feature that stands out in the researches is that students can memorize without leaving their families or being away from their peers. Collaboration between the school and the Qur'an course is critical to the project's success. It has been determined that the one-year break from school within the scope of the project, in terms of the opportunity it provides for Qur'an memorization education, is a driving force in students and their families deciding and continuing memorization education. However, it has been revealed that this period is generally insufficient to complete memorization, and a limited number of students can complete it within this period. One of the strengths of the project with formal education is the participation of willing and capable students in memorization education at an early age. This quantitative and qualitative increase in the student resource, is a pleasing situation for Qur'an memorization education. Research findings show that carrying out Qur'an memorization with formal education positively contribute to student academic and social development. As a result, the Qur'an memorization project with formal education significantly contribute to Turkey's education system as a new model. For the project to be executed successfully, it is crucial to make structural improvements, meet the expectations of students and teachers, and strengthen cooperation between institutions.
