In this study, the in vitro antimicrobial resistance of Salmonella typhimurium strains isolated from stool (77) and blood (10) cultures in 1993-1994 was investigated. The antimicrobial susceptibility test method was microdilution and done according to the recommendations of NCCLS M7-A2 1990 standard, the MIC50 and MIC90 values and percentages of resistance were determined. They were resistant to ampicillin, cephalothin, chloramphenicol and trimethoprim + sulfamethoxazole and susceptible to cefoxitin, ceftriaxone, imipenem, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin.
