Abstract

This study investigates the integration impact of passenger transport on the sea and public transport. A decision support model is proposed to plan the water route phases integrated with the public transportation system. The existing travel data and passenger travels between districts were analyzed and illustrated with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). A geographic database is developed for relevant phases, and their results reveal the spatial connection between location and passenger travel. The findings show that there is a significant relationship between distance and passenger travel choices in the case of maritime Istanbul.
